Putting transparent, explainable AI in the hands of every Virginian — from Big Stone Gap to the Eastern Shore. Trained at George Mason. Delivered by Virginians. Powered by SDGAI.
The Virginia AI Corps trains motivated individuals at George Mason University to deliver hands-on AI workshops across the Commonwealth. These train-the-trainer graduates fan out to community colleges, workforce boards, chambers of commerce, and school districts — bringing practical AI skills to people who've never been invited to the table.
The technology is SDGAI — a transparent, four-stage synthetic data generation platform that runs on a $15 Raspberry Pi. But the mission is bigger than the software. It's about building a permanent, self-sustaining pipeline of AI-literate Virginians who lift up their own communities.
Incorporated as a Virginia 501(c)(3), the AI Corps ensures this work continues beyond any single grant cycle, any single administration, any single champion.
Graduate and undergraduate students at Mason's Department of Computational & Data Sciences learn the SDGAI platform, pedagogy, and workshop delivery.
Certified trainers travel to any community in Virginia to deliver full-day bootcamps — customized to the local economy and audience.
Local educators and workforce leaders learn to run workshops independently. The knowledge stays in the community.
As a 501(c)(3), the Corps funds itself through bootcamp sponsorships, grants, and institutional partnerships — no dependency on a single source.
SDGAI is not a black box. Every step produces human-readable output that students, educators, and regulators can inspect.
Describe your dataset in plain English. The AI identifies fields, types, and relationships.
The AI writes a human-readable spec file — a blueprint you can inspect and approve.
A compiled C engine executes the spec at machine speed. 10,000 records in under a second.
The AI reviews the output. A data quality report confirms every field matches the request.
Whether you make policy, run a classroom, or lead a workforce board — there's a door for you.
See the case for deploying AI training at every community college in Virginia — for less than the cost of a single textbook per student.
The Initiative →You provide the space and up to 100 people. We deliver a full-day AI workshop for a $495 flat rate. Anywhere in Virginia.
Book Now →See the complete workshop arc — from "what is a computer" to generating AI datasets. Zero prerequisites. Zero jargon.
Workshop Outline →35 use cases across 7 regions — tailored to your local economy, from coal country to Hampton Roads to the Eastern Shore.
Regional Playbook →Every decision the AI makes is written to a readable spec file. No hidden weights, no unexplainable outputs. Aligned with H.R. 6881.
The generation engine runs locally with zero internet dependency. No cloud, no telemetry, no data leaving the building.
GMU students become certified instructors. They deliver bootcamps. Local leaders learn to sustain it. The knowledge stays.
30+ field types, parent-child relationships, correlated distributions, custom lookups. Simple to use, serious under the hood.
Every bootcamp generates data that mirrors the local economy — mining, shipbuilding, poultry, tourism — not generic demos.
As a Virginia 501(c)(3), the AI Corps funds itself through bootcamp fees, grants, and partnerships — built to last.
The entire SDGAI platform runs on a circuit board the size of a stick of gum. When the barrier to entry is fifteen dollars, everyone gets in.
GMU-trained instructor, printed materials, live Pi demo, all lab exercises, certificates — for up to 100 participants. You just provide the room.
Whether you want to host a bootcamp, become a trainer, support the initiative, or just learn more — we'd love to hear from you.
